About CONNECTICUT SUBMISSION GRAPPLING

WHO WE ARE

Connecticut Submission Grappling (CSG) is the only academy in Connecticut dedicated exclusively to No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu and live training. Located in Bridgeport, our academy offers a clean, professional, and welcoming environment where athletes of all levels can thrive. From the moment you step on the mats, you’ll notice the difference — a safe space built for growth, respect, and community.

Unlike gyms that split their focus across multiple styles or rely on scripted drills, we’ve created an atmosphere that is both structured and adaptable. Every class is 100% live training, scaled to match the athletes in the room. Beginners develop confidence through controlled games in a safe, supportive setting, while experienced grapplers test themselves in high-intensity rounds that reflect real competition.

Our mission is simple: to make submission grappling accessible, authentic, and safe for anyone ready to train. At CSG, you’ll find more than instruction — you’ll find a community that’s clean, inclusive, and committed to helping you improve both on and off the mats.

MEET OUR TEAM

Ryan Moutinho

Connecticut Submission Grappling

Ryan Moutinho brings a unique blend of creativity, focus, and passion to the mats. Before dedicating himself to Jiu-Jitsu, he toured the world as a professional drummer, an experience that instilled in him resilience, discipline, and a drive for excellence. When he decided to step away from full-time music, Ryan shifted his energy toward grappling. A pursuit that quickly became his life’s work.

Ryan began training Jiu-Jitsu under the guidance of Eddie Bravo at 10th Planet HQ in Los Angeles, where he developed his foundation and earned his purple belt. Since then, he has dedicated himself fully to Jiu-Jitsu training, competing, and now coaching. Known for his gritty work ethic and modern approach, Ryan designs classes that challenge students to grow while keeping training welcoming and rewarding.

His mission as a coach is to foster a culture of creativity, resilience, and teamwork, where students of all levels feel supported and inspired to reach their goals.

Alex Seneco

Connecticut Submission Grappling

Alexander Seneco has been training Jiu Jitsu since 2008 and has remained a dedicated student of the art ever since. A GF Team black belt with over 15 years of experience on the mats, Alex combines a deep passion for coaching with a modern, evidence-based approach to skill development.

His teaching style emphasizes contemporary motor-learning principles, helping students build skills that stick through hands-on application and problem-solving. Alex’s goal is not only to share his knowledge but also to create an environment where students learn how to learn while gaining the confidence and adaptability to grow.
